Square bar, notched along two edges and 2 of the sides marked off in graduated weight, one scale runs from 40 to 150 lbs & other scale from 5 to 35 lbs., one end of bar terminates in a disc & other end broadens to heart shaped point; 3 hooks attached to point section, 2 hooks on same side & 3rd is opposite; pear shaped weight attached to a ring that slides distance of bar.
One hook used to suspend tool object to be weighted attached to the hook handing below tool; weight moved till all in balance; such scales commonly used during home butchering; possible belonged to Horatio Davis, a Morristown School Teacher.Collection
