A device for stamping the Shelby County Board f Commissioner's Seal on documents. Overall appearance si something lick a "C". There is a wide base which has tweo holes to secure it to a counter. The column at the back of the base extends up and over. At middle of column is a thin metal strip extending to seal which acts as a tension bar to holk seal in line; at top column where it arches over seal is a metal lever ending in a ball. The lever pushes the pressure plate down and imprints seal on the paper.
Had old collection number 125 and records for it read: "An old official seal of Shelby Co. Given to the Historical Society by the Board of Commissioners Apr. 1924. (Preserved by H. C. Morrison)"Collection
