2 part device; bottom part or base is stamped so that it has a slightly arched surface and the sides are bent up and back in towars the top surface, this bending holds in place a wire that is looped and seems to act as a stop for the top section, about 5/8" from front edge is a striking surface that flattens the staple after it passes through the papers, top section sonsists of a holow magazine to hold staples, at fron of magazine is a housing holding a plunger rod and on top of the rod is a round striking surface, underside of striking surface has a spring for automatic return.
