Has a screw at the top to adjust a blade or pressure of a blade. On the bottom, the(blade is a set screw, looks like maybe the lip hangs over on the bottom. Was used to guide it on a straight surface. Two holes for fingers to hold the piece. Marks: ATKINS & CO., PAT MAY 5, '74, JUN '75, AUG '81, JAN '88, INDIANAPOLIS, IND. MAKER: ATKINS & CO. Special function: Was used to cut down the drag teeth on a saw; also, could clamp a file to it and joint all teeth. Originally owned by Zachariah Price, the donor's grandfather. He was a farmer and used this object to sharpen his cross cut saws.
