Tall and narrow wood cabinet containing workings for a 100 line magneto switchboard; near bottom are 2 metal brackets which hold a round wood foot rest; all finish worn from foot rest; about 1/2 way up cabinet is a shelf that extends for 16" and shelf has plugs and switches for operating system, at lower left is plug-in for headset and lower right is a crank; above shelf are numbered plug receptacles and above that various switches, upper left corner cabinet has amber light bulb and upper right has 2 switches
Paper tags on battery-like objects in back read "Western Electric Co. Patented in USA Jun 19, 1897."
Used for the Manilla, Indiana phone system. Donor's husband worked for Indiana Bell and helped install dial service at Manilla. Brought home to prevent its destruction.Collection
