Two metal discs used by the armed services during WW1 and issued to all military personnel for identification purposes; discs are aluminum and s grayish color; one is marked "LOUIS H. GROVER" on one side and "1977506" on the other side; other disc is marked on one side only and reads "LOUIS H. GROVER/PVT/HDQ DET /197750/ U.S.A./82 DIV" both discs have same piece of cloth tape inserted through holes drilled in their tops
04/30/19 - Metal discs, such as these, were issued to all military personnel for identification purposes and are known as "Dog Tags". These were issued to Louis H. Grover, the namesake of Grover Museum. Today dog tags include a soldiers name, social security number, blood type and religion.Collection
