The Indiana Junior Historian (Newsletter)Secondary Title
The Heart of the CommunityDescription
A publication by the Indiana historical Bureau featuring an article on Shelbyville, Indiana. The front cover has a Shelby County Historical Society photo of the public square from July 1, 1876. The inside includes other pictures of Shelbyville, stories about public places and people gatherings, postcard information, and architecture.
Newsletter issue came out in May 1993.Context
Keeping this because it focuses on Shelbyville and features photos in the Shelby County Historical Society’s collection.
In 1993, this issue would have cost 85 cents, if purchased as a single issue and not a classroom set (the publication was provided for free to school and public libraries in Indiana). The top corner has “1.00” handwritten on it, so perhaps that is the price students would pay to keep a copy (speculation)?Collection
