2 metal hooks made from heavy gauge wire approx. 11 1/2" long; wire is bent is in several places to give a curved surface; one end on each wire termainates in a 90degree turn, then the wire is flattened and cut to form a point for a hook, other end of wire is flattened also and has 2 rivets; one rivet joins the 2 wires and rides in a slot on the handle, the 2nd. rivet attaches the wire to another piece of metal which is attached to the handle; handle is heavay gauge wire flattened where tongs attach and also at very top where it is decorated in floral motif.
Special Function: Used to move blocks of ice; hooks were spread so that points were on opposite sides of a block; then by pulling up on handle exerted a pressure that caused the points to dig into the ice and hold.Collection
