1 x 13/16" long narrow wood piece with measurements marks pencilled at 12" intervals; shorter piece fits over and moves up and down; long part same wood as used in measurement piece; small piece maied to it to form hole so piece can move freely; piece used to form hole 5 1/2"lg. and rounded at one end; third piece is carved on angle to smooth rough edges, attached with 2 nails to main piece; 6 nails in all; one nail came thru tip, pounded down; when two pieces put together forms a large L. Function was to measure how many hands "high" a horse stood. Consists of two pieces 1983.045.028 A & B.Collection
