Object made in two pieces; wood handle made from 1-5/16" x 1-1/8" board, butt end of handle still squared although end has been rounded and in front of butt section wood has been rounded and tapered; at spot where hook comes through wood is squared again and terminated in a beveled nose; hook is piece of metal with at least 6 holes drilled in one end, hook fits through slot in wood and nut runs through wood metal and out other piece of wood where secured by a nut.
Ira Isley was blacksmith at Mt. Auburn. IN and according to donor he made this item to help move logs and building timers. See also Neg. N-689Collection
