Description

Device consists of 4 main sections; 1st section serves as base that rests on the ground, it is a single piece of iron w/each end turned up at approx. 90 degree angle, and each end has 2 holes drilled in it; 2nd section is 2 pieces of iron that fit into drilled holes of 1st section, these 2 pieces have a gentle curve on end and a sharp bend on other in order to fit holes; 3rd section is secured to 1st section and consists of a round pressure plate and triggering device; 4th section is single piece of iron bent back on itself, 2 ends have holes in them and one hole fits over 1st section and other hole fits over 2nd section; a 15-1/2" chain is attached to 4th section. Device functions by depressing the 4th section and allowing 2 parts of 2nd section to open and after setting trigger device, trap is ready to spring shut; although could be used as foot trap for most small animals, donor's father used it on his farm as a rat trap
