Black and white cabinet print; subject is female, portrait view, looking slightly to the right; hair is curly on sides and done up on top in a modified Psyche knot; wearing dark garment with stand up colllar that may be trimmed in lace and around collar is a ribbon bow; shoulders drop into a voluminous sleeve and there is a lace ruffle over the shoulders and across the front of the dress; garment closes in front and 5 round shiney buttons are visible (bottom of image is opaqued ) and lace ruffle may hide some buttons; also appears to be small piece of jewelry at neck just abrove top button.
