B&W professional studio print; subject is upper torso of young man, exposed almost square to camera; wearing garrison style cap that has an American Eagle on it and over the eagle's head is "SOUSA"; does not appear to have any hair on sides of head; wearing steel rim glasses with round lenses; wearing tunic type garment that has a stand up collar with round medallion like button on either side of center closure; front center of garment has what appears to be a zipper with a vertical ribbed panel on either side of center; shoulders and chest of garment decorated with braid work Letter from donor states that Walter F. Rasp played with the Sousa Band on the 1927 tour only, and that shortly after the 1927 tour, Rasp entered Purdue to study civil engineering
