Caption under drawing: "For many, many years, well into the thirties it was common practice in most/cities to water down the street during hot summer months. This particular/print above appeared in a late 1800's edition of Harper's Weekly. Of course, sprinkler trucks got more sophisticated in the 1900's."Collection
