Description

The quilt is a multicolor-on-white sampler with 10" patterned blocks separated by 10" white blocks and was made entirely by hand. In the pocket of the muslin label is the original program from the Indianapolis Star's Quilt Exhibit, including a complete list of exhibitors.

Use

by Maud Oldham Fox (1872-1938) and the Oldham Fox Thralls Family.

Context

This quilt was exhibited in the Indianapolis Star's Second Annual Quilt Exhibit at the Athenaeum of Indianapolis in the spring of 1931. There were 381 entries total. The quilt is also recognized by the Indiana Quilt Registry Project with the ID number CB206.
