Description

A wedding dress of white, embroidered, sheer muslin with a scalloped edge. Bodice is short-sleeved (11" with the lace edge). Front of bodice has 3 pleats on each side of a lace and muslin panel gathered into set-in belt. Back of bodice has 3 pleats on each side of back opening; opening fastened with 13 lace-covered buttons. Set-in belt of muslin and lace. Skirt is straight in front, gathered in back.

by the mother of the donor, Mabel Harmony Newsom, at her Aug. 15, 1910 wedding to Wayne Watson White in Azalia, IN.

Context

Mabel was the daughter of Ruth Woodard and David T. Newsom. Wayne was the son of Edmond White and Adda Woodward.
