Context

The fabric for the ensemble was woven by Joy Carmichael Helm, June's sister, who created the garment and made purses and hats, for a graduate thesis for a Master of Arts in Art. She completed her studies at Ball State University in Muncie, IN in June 1969. Gail Carmichael, mother, made all the clothes.
