Description

Lady's two-piece suit. Wool in a plaid of black, purple and white. A: Jacket is straight, 22" long with round collar, three 1" -square black leather buttons, 2 breast pockets with turn-down flaps. Plain straight sleeves. Ivory silk lining. B: Skirt is 22" long with a 1" belt; 4 darts in front and 4 darts in back; 7" zipper on left side; skirt lined in plum color silk. Vent in back seam with flap of material underneath. Exhibit label created 2019. Stored in box.

by Jean White, wife of David, in the 1960s.

Context

The suit was purchased at Martines in Paris, France by David White in Aug., 1962 when he was on a "People to People" trip to Russia, Belgium, and France.
