Device with wood base; has 2 uprights secured to base and each upright has a sping through center secured at top by metal plate and screws; base of springs rest on a metal rod that runs through a ribbed wood roller, one end of metal rod is twice bent for a crank handle; turning crank rotates the ribbed roller which workd against 4 smaller rods which are turned to have 6 rings on surfaces; smaller rods also made of wood. Supposed function was as a clothes wringer; wet cloth place between large roller and smaller roller; handle turned which pulled cloth between large roller and other small rollers; springs kept large roller in place and applied tension necessary for force excess water from cloth.Collection
