The Torah is the most sacred object in Jewish worship and Sunday Congregation Beth Sholom in Gulfport rededicated its three Torahs with special ceremonies. Members of the synagogue escorted the Torahs into the sanctuary and deposited them in the Ark. The Torahs are handprinted scrolls of the Five Books of Moses (the Bible from Genesis to Deuteronomy). A portion is read aloud every Sabbath during worship. Beth Sholom's spiritual leader is Rabbi Morris Kobrinetz.
