"The first Gulfport City Hall was built in the "Early Orange Belt Depot" architectural style in 1913 for a cost of $1,259.75. Constructed by C.C. Sawyer and painted yellow, it stood in Chase Park approximately where the shuffleboard courts are now located. It was funded by the proceeds from the first municipal bond issue." [In 2025, the shuffleboard courts are now dog parks and the Gulfport Arts Center.]
