"The Gypsy sailed out of Gulfport from 1903 to 1944, providing ferry service to the beaches before there were bridges and later serving as a fishing party boat. It is the boat featured on the City seal. In 1995, a boat thought to be the Gypsy was raised and a campaign launched to restore it, until it was discovered not to be there same vessel."
