Dear Mr + Mrs Camp.
Well I had a close call. They tried to discover a tumor or other things in my kidneys but was only sucessfull [sic] to find a stone which was removed without an operation, so here I am back at the school again.
I am anxiously waiting what my next move will be, as I do not hear from you I can not plan, but just wait for things to develop.
I don't like the idea, but I just had too [sic]. I saw many able bodied men getting [suport] from the county, so I am now one of them. It surprised me very much to learn there are several at the school doing the same thing. How long it will last we can't say.
If you are single there is no earthly chance of getting a job from any source.
We have an art exhibit at the school tonight. I have 5 paintings on exhibit. So far critic [sic] seem to find good points in mine.
I have several large paintings home mostly religious subjects or nudes. It worries me how I will take them along. If you have a station wagon the problem is soulved [sic]. They are about 3 1/2 by 4 ft.
I lost 6 bls [sic] in the hospital but am in fairly good shape. In 30 days I should be [sic] have forgotten this experience. Please write soon so I can figure on things. It takes just 5 minutes of your time. So do so now.
Hope you are having a good season. Send my best to Smith and the many guests, and hope to see you soon.
[Best] Yours,
