A compote from the set of Lamberton China made exclusively for the Hotel Rolyat in 1925.Context
"Jack Taylor contracted with John Wanamaker of New York for many of the furnishings of his hotel including china and silver. Lamberton China issued the china and Reed-Barton provided the silver. Schammael, dealer in American Ironstone was a sub-contractor. Jack Taylor became indebted to Wanamaker for over $200,00 and Wanamaker sent associates to the hotel to try to retrieve some of the furnishings. According to Mrs. Fry they smash things.
