"Queen Anne, 2701 Beach Boulevard, is the only surviving example in Gulfport of this style. Built for the Sackrider family about 1910 by Vincent Leonardy, Gulfport's most prolific builder during the city's early years, it was later given to Sackrider's daughter Kate, who has married John F. Cronkhite, Mayor of Gulfport during the mid-1920s. The Cronkhite's son, John L. Cronkhite, was a World War II flying ace, immortalized by war correspondent Ernie Pyle in his book "Here is Your War". His exploits during the war also inspired the 1940s hit song "Coming In On A Wing and A Prayer" and the movie "G.I. Joe"." 1993 GHS Calendar, March (CAL1993)Collection
