On April 19, 1965, the Gulfport Public Library celebrated its thirtieth year of operation. In the photograph, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Potter, Mayor John T. Robinson, Mrs. Marie E. Bryan, and the City Manager are raising a new flag in celebration of the Library's thirtieth anniversary. This flag has flown over the United States Capitol Building at Washington, D.C.
