Hotel Dobler, Boca Ciega InnContext
"John Dobler, who became mayor of Gulfport in 1919 (by a vote of 15-13), built the handsome hotel ... Though it had 41 rooms, each with its own lavatory and hot and cold running water, the Dobler Hotel never really prospered, in time became the much more successful Boca Ciega Inn, and was eventually demolished in 1974. The wooden pier was replaced in the 1930s as a WPA project." (Gabber Newspaper, April 2, 2009)Collection
