"[The] ladies showing off their tarpon catches were two very prominent citizens of Gulfport from the 1920s on. Mrs. Kathryn Thorne, on the left, of 5325 31st Avenue, was the wife of the town photographer (who was also official team photographer for the Yankees) and Miss Marie Wilson lived across the street at 5314. The picture was probably taken around 1940, before the Gulf and Bay were closed to sport fishing because of the war." (Gabber Newspaper, December 18, 2008)Collection
