Context

"...a rare postcard of the attraction known as Monkey Island, which was located near the ninth tee of the Pasadena golf course in the 1920s. Today it would be just south of the intersection of Gulfport Boulevard and 64th Street (no longer surrounded by water). The monkey gang attracted a lot of visitors, many of whom disapproved of their behavior - and nudity. Others, however, found their antics entertaining and visiting Monkey Island on a Sunday afternoon was a popular diversion." (Gabber Newspaper, April 23 2009)
