1510 48th STREET SOUTH - My family moved there when I was 2-1/2 years old. My earliest memories of the place are going over to look at it with my father before we moved in and being totally fascinated by the stacks of paint cans in the closet. Then I wandered out back to the yard with its overgrown grass and found an old orange Halloween noisemaker whereupon I decided that it was going to be a good place to live. Later in the teenaged transistor days I remember hiding the radio under the covers late at night and picking up the Newport Jazz Festival from some faroff place up north and waking up to the static the next morning.Language
