Description

A ring of gold with precious stones. The setting is in the shape of a heart surmounted by a crown. A diamond is in the center, surrouned by a ring of rubies. The crown has three rubies, spaced by two diamonds. The stones are 18th century, the setting is from the 19th. The shoulder is pierced gold in an acanthus scroll pattern. The ring was given to Sarah Eilbeck Mason by her father, George Mason IV. The design is based on a seal ring owned by George Mason II.
