Description

c. 16th century Swiss or German two-handed iron sword (also called Zwiehander, Dopplehander & more) Reportedly from Collection of Clarence H. Mackay. This particular weapon is deceiving in its appearance in that it only weighs seven pounds. It is two-handed because of its length. The triangular metal forms extending out from the blade are called Parierhaken, or parrying hooks. This is a slashing weapon.
