Description

130 panels, border hand-painted in red/black alternating 4 roses pattern with coat of arms of Hernando Gonzola de Cordova. 123 in ceiling of dining room, rest is storage "Acquired by Leslie Buswell on 13 May 1922 at the Clarke Galleries, NYC, sale of the Raimondo Ruiz Collection of Spanish antiquities. Described as 16th century from the palace of the Count of Cabra. Paid $2,200. Top price paid for day’s sale. Other big bidder was William Randolf Hearst. Partly installed in ceiling of the Bungalow’s Tudor bay window in 1922. Later removed to the Castle.
