French 16th c. decorative plate attributed to Bernard Palissy; 6-sided with faces representing the sun, moon and 4 seasons. Glazed ceramic. Bernard Palissy was a protégé of Catherine de Medici but died in the Bastille because he was a Huguenot. Another piece by him is at the MET.
