French 16th c. decorative plate by Bernard Palissy; 6-sided representing in faces and nature colors; sun, moon and 4 seasons. Glazed ceramic. Bernard Palissy was a protégé of Catherine de Medici but died in the Bastille because he was a Huguenot. Another piece by him is at the MET.
