Description

Carved wooden Bishop's or choir stall from the Cathedral of la Seu d'Urgell in Catalan, Spain In 3 parts: -seat with simple band inlay which lifts to expose "mercy seat" underneath; -the stall itself, which is bordered with carved figures, at its center is thin line running up in the tree of life design, terminating in Gothic arch; -canopy, elaborately carved reaching out at an angle. Previously in the Hammond family bungalow before it was brought to castle. Possibly part of set at Hearst Castle Seat damaged.
