Description

16-17th c Spanish Monastery Pew 1 of 2 pews/benches with joined seats, dowel back and front detail, plain arm rests. #1 pew originally in the tower with 4 seats and was later cut down to 3 seats when moved to Great Hall. Removed pieces in storage. Purchased in 1934 by Hammond from Las Casas' Santo Domingo First Church University (monastery & cathedral overseen by Bartholomew Las Casas). (Fumigated with methyl bromide gas in October of 1983.)
