16th c. French Throne Style Chair with Orleans Coat-of-Arms
Oak chair with high back carved in two sections,
Lift seat hinges with fleur-de-lis hardware.
On the bottom front, there is 2 shields carved.
On sides, linenfold. On back, Orleans coat-of-arms.
This type has been called the "close" chair since it has no legs. This closed quality made the chair sturdy and strong.
