Marble tablet 1 of funeral memorials and fragments imbedded in wall on left side of courtyard archway Reportedly discovered 1926 in Roman catacombs Probably are part of the "inscriptions" purchased from Pacific TRANSCRIPTION D(is) M(anibus). M(arcus) Iulius An= tistius Iuli= ae Rodope 5uxori opti= mae ac sanc= tissimae fecit. TRANSLATION To the Divine Spirits. Marcus Iulius Antistius made (this) for Iulia Rodope, the best and most venerable wife [USEP HCM.L.Tmp97.6.20]
