"A Half-Million Dollar "Mystery" Mansion for a Bride
This is the first photo ever taken of the much-discussed mystery mansion, now being built at Gloucester, Mass. by John Hays Hammond Jr. at cost of more than $500,000 for himself and his bride. The mansion, which is honeycombed with secret passages and tunnels, has been under construction for more than a year, and is not expected to be ready for occupancy before January 1st. The purposes of the passages and chambers is to make it possible for young Hammond, an inventor, to continue his radio experiments in complete seclusion and secrecy. This photo was taken from plane."
