Caption on Back - " New Home For French Embassy in Washington, This is the view of the John Hays Hammond mansion at 2221 Kalorama Road, N. W. that was purchased by the French Government at a reputed price of $400,000, to serve as a new home for it diplomatic legation. It is reported that Ambassador and Mme. Andre De Laboulave will move into the new quarters immediately forsaking the old embassy on q6th Street that had served for 30 years."
