Mini Austro-Hungarian Uhlan's helmet, ca 1912-1914 Uhlan's were lancers of both the Austro-Hungarian and Imperial German militaries. Original would have been made of gilded brass and leather w horse tail-hair plume. Platform on top was to ward off saber cuts from above. Part of set purchased, May 3, 1928, from Eugen Kettler of Hofburg, valet of Emperor Franz Joseph Favors from royal banquets from Emperor
