Description

Dress is designed by Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo. Black velvet tabard dress with gold pleated silk panels, featuring a gold block-printed design on the front, back, and sleeves. The block print pattern on the black gown reflects Persian style influence from the fifteenth century. This particular pattern is called "Moresco", a word in Italian which literally translates to "Moorish". Donated by Princess Evangeline Zalstem-Zalessky
