Context

The Ward-Belmont Alumnae Fund was created in 1951 to secure funds for the purpose of negotiating with the Tennessee Baptist Convention for the return of the Ward-Belmont property. The TBC was unwilling to cooperate, and the Ward-Belmont Alumnae Fund did not raise the full amount needed.
