A third edition pamphlet on librarianship as a growing profession for college trained men and women. Printed in December of 1928 in Chicago by the American Library Association. Describes a three-fold appeal of librarianship as a profession of books and scholarship, a field for high administrative ability, and a constructive social service. The pamphlet discusses different types of librarians, the field itself, personal qualifications, preparation, salaries, hours of work, vacation, and leave, placement and advancement, and additional information within the field of librarianship.
