The 1998 program for the George Washington Day Celebration put on by the class of 2003 when they were in the seventh grade. The celebration was dedicated to Merrie Morrisey Clark (1969), History teacher and director of George Washington Day. George Washington was played by eighth grader Audrey Ball Guest (2002) and Martha Washington was played by eighth grader Abigail "Abi" Markham Houseright (2002). The George Washington Day Celebration was a tradition that began at Belmont College for Young Women, developed into a costume ball and dance at Ward-Belmont, and was transferred to Harpeth Hall, where it continued as a special all-school program performed by Middle School students until 2020.Collection
