Scope and Content

A personal post card from the Miles Kimball Company, Oshkosh, Wis. Labeled “Emily Finklea, Ward-Belmont, Nashville, Tennessee." Sent by Finklea, Ward-Belmont College class of 1949, to her parents/family. Addressed to Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Finklea, Monroeville, Alabama. Postmarked December 5, 1947, Nashville, Tennessee. Stamped with a green 1 cent United States Postage stamp featuring George Washington. The note reads as follows: “Friday morning. Hello! “Two weeks from today” is all I’ve heard since I left the room. I’m at the P.O. now. Ate two pieces of toast for breakfast so am a little late getting back to finish reading my chemistry. Last night the teachers gave a skit and perfectly portrayed W.B students. The proceeds went to the W.S.S.F drive which is being held this week. We got our yellow sweatshirts with Anti-Pan in big green letters, yesterday so I’m all dressed up in it this morning. Love, Emily.”
