Adelicia Acklen was the original mistress of Belmont Mansion having built it with her second husband, Joseph Acklen. She sold the property in 1887 and it was converted into Belmont College.
Her third husband's name was Dr. William Cheatham making Richard Cheatham her nephew.Collection
