Ward-Belmont School presents Elaine Baker in her Dance Diploma Recital, assisted by Dance Certificate Students. Held at the Ward-Belmont auditorium, Thursday evening, March 24, 1938, at 8:15. The recital consisted of two parts with three dances each, with a five-minute intermission.

Context

Elaine Baker was a member of the Ward-Belmont class of 1938. Originally from Clarksburg, West Virginia, Baker earned her dancing diploma, piano certificate, voice certificate, and expression certificate from Ward-Belmont. She was a member of the Tri K social club, Art Club ('38), and the symphony orchestra ('37 & '38), and her leadership positions included Vice President of West Virginia Club ('37), President of Glee Club ('38, member '37), and senior class treasurer ('38). Baker's diploma recital was noted as "an exceptional bit of entertainment" in the Milestones 1938 yearbook, and she was chosen as T - Talented in the yearbook ABC Contest.
