A photocopy of a document written by Miss Patty Chadwell, dated September 10, 1990. Chadwell recounts the early years of Harpeth Hall after Ward-Belmont was purchased in the spring of 1951 by the Baptist Church, the "voyage of faith" she and all other faculty members who agreed to come to the new school took together, and her efforts to establish the Physical Education program. Patty Litton Chadwell, affectionately known as "Miss Patty," was a student at Ward-Belmont and a founding faculty member at Harpeth Hall where she was the Physical Education teacher for forty years. She was a multi-sport athlete at Ward-Belmont and earned her Physical Education Diploma in 1935. A lifelong Nashville resident, she also graduated from Peabody Demonstration School and Peabody College.Collection
