The 2003 program for the George Washington Day Celebration put on by the class of 2008 when they were in the seventh grade. The celebration was dedicated to recent heroes of the Space Shuttle Columbia. George Washington was played by eighth grader Mary "English" Taylor (2007) and Martha Washington was played by eighth grader Annie Kate Brown (2007). The George Washington Day Celebration was a tradition that began at Belmont College for Young Women, developed into a costume ball and dance at Ward-Belmont, and was transferred to Harpeth Hall, where it continued as a special all-school program performed by Middle School students until 2020.Collection
